Pupil News Letter August 2019
Corner House Recording Studio is Open!
We thank you for your patience in the first quarter of this year while the new recording studio was being built. We're pleased to say the studio is now open and has already begun recording multiple musicians from across the World.
The studio is owned and operated by Kurt Wood, you can talk to Kurt about booking the studio on 07450 224190 or email@example.com .
There are still bits of work to be done in the shop and studio area and we have plans to improve on coffee and snacks as well as keeping a good range of strings, drum sticks and accessories and a selection of used musical instruments as before.
We have some exciting ideas of how Musicians Centre and Corner House Recording Studio can collaborate and offer pupils invaluable recording experience in the future. More on that later.
The price of lessons will change on Monday 2nd September to £15 per half hour private lesson. At this time group lessons will remain the same.
It will have been 22 months since our last price increase and for us to retain and attract the very best music teachers this increase is necessary.
Your last lesson paid in advance will still stand even though you will have paid £13.50 or less for that lesson.
We are offering an opportunity for you to “hold” the original lesson price for up to six weeks after the price increase date. To do that you can 'pay forward’ up to six lessons between now and the 31st of August. Simply say you'd like to pay forward some lessons when paying for your regular lesson and we will mark the lessons between the 2nd September and 13th of October as paid at the original price.
Pupil Open Mic
As well as hosting a breadth of local and touring artists, the next door music venue, The Exchange will continue to offer a supportive and friendly place for pupils to showcase what they have been learning to friends, parents and anyone else.
The next open mic will be on the 4th of September, no need to sign up. Just turn up and talk with teacher Sam Wilson who will be there to help on the night. Entry is £3 per person.
A couple of celebrations!
Two exciting developments in the Musicians Centre family. Guitar teacher Damian has made an honest woman of his fiance Sarah. We wish them a happy marriage and our hearty congratulations.
Michael and his wife Jodi welcomed a beautiful baby girl Alina Clark Watmough into the World on April the 18th weighing a sprightly 7lb and 15oz and very eager to arrive she was with only 10 minutes to spare after arriving at Airedale Hospital. Both mother and baby are doing well.
We thank you for your continued support of Musicians Centre, the community that has grown since moving into Corner House is really fantastic and we all genuinely enjoy our work and look forward to our many exciting plans ahead!
